Successful Voiceover Audition
There are times when someone I auditioned for will email back to let me know what the status is or that I didn't fit the project. I've had times when a production company will get back to me and say the client chose someone else but they liked the audition and want to use me for another project...and they actually do!
However, I had an email come in today that made my day...literally. First, it was very nice of him to even connect with me, but the way he wrote his note was priceless. I think you'll get what I mean when you read it.
I hope you enjoy a laugh with me...
"The audition was great, unfortunately you have not got the job this time but I look forward to hearing your voice in the future."
Now, while this is amusing in terms of how it's written (Hey, would you like some candy...Sure Mr.....Sorry, we don't have any), this is the kind of guy who, from my experience, will connect with me again should the need arise. Even if I didn't audition, he would be the kind to either email me directly for an audition or perhaps would even say "I think you would be good for this job...send me a sample"
So, the audition was successful even though I didn't get "this" job.
