Social Media - Your Take?
I know what I'm "trying" to do with the social media marketing avenues. I know how "I" want it to be perceived, however, that may not be how it "is" being received. When I'm posting on social media, the last people I'm posting for is other voice talent and it's definately not to inflate myself in others eyes.
So, I'm re-thinking a bit about how things are perceived and I'm willing to adjust if need be. While we cannot control, nor should we be overly concerned what others think, I do feel balance is important and when it comes to potential clients, perception is extremely important.
Having said that, my posts are really what's happening with me or they are bits that (I hope) will encourage or challenge those reading...I am rather transparent with all my postings, whether they be on Twitter, a blog or wherever, should I not? However, how others perceive what I present does have merit to some extent. So, again, I'm going to give some more thought to what I'm "putting out there".
Why do I bring all this up? While visiting Dave Courvoisier's blog as I usually do, I read a post called "MushMind..." I was very intrigued by the topic and the comments from Peter O'Connell, Karen Commins and Derek Chappell. I'm processing the thoughts of all as I look at what I'm doing with Twitter and other marketing options.

Brian:
The challenge of social media is that it is so open, changes within the channel happen constantly so one never knows if they're really on the cutting edge or if the train has already left the station.
Stick with your gut...it will guide you well through most of the social media waters.
Best always,
- Peter

I agree Peter, our natural instincts are a good source, especially when we know our motives are coming from the right place. Thanks for your comment...always welcomed.
