A Chimp & Voiceover – Would it Work?
It's not often that our work gets "noticed", per se' – wouldn't you agree? There are those special times when, out of the blue you get an email from a fellow voice actor with the wonderful news that they landed a really great job or were part of an impactful project. For example, I've had friends who have won the Voicey Award from Voices.com – it's all great stuff.
This brings me to the reason for my post today. Many months ago I was hired by Crown Chimp Productions, whose name alone intrigued me! So, after doing some research and viewing past projects, I was highly impressed. As a video editing/camera operator buff, I enjoyed the visual aspect of their work.
The project I partnered with them on was called "6 Minutes" for Brute/Adidas Wrestling, and it features Henry Cejudo (what an athlete he is!) Well, two days ago I received the following correspondence from the producer of the commercial:
"Just wanted to shoot you an awesome update: 6 MINUTES won a GOLD Addy award- and a SILVER one- at the District Addy competition. It is now on it's way to the national competition! Congrats!"
TOTALLY unexpected news, as you can imagine, and it started me thinking. I would like to begin to add to my blog postings the "good news" that YOU may have, as it relates to your voiceover and/or audio production work. Not sure how it will play out – perhaps I will mention a number of them in one post with appropriate links etc. and post on Twitter as well. I could see posting at least once per month or more, depending on the need.
So, when you have good news about your business, tips or something you would like posted here, just email me and I'll add it to the list.
Now, if you have :30 to spare and would like to see the work of Crown Chimp Productions, the video is below.

Once again, amazing work Brian. Everyone that sees it automatically asks about the voice. You gave our little piece a pulse!
